Andrea seems to know exactly who Cayden is when he shows up at
Szymon's place and finds her there. She invites Cayden inside
and while there, Cayden sees a young boy named Sammy. Cayden
discovers that the boy is Szymon's son and that Andrea is Szymon's
wife. |

1x15: "When the Madness Stops, Part II" |
Andrea Darling approaches Szymon and tells him that he should
tell Cayden the truth about everyone. Their marriage is a marriage
of convenience. Andrea is his best friend and he married her
so that she could be on his health insurance plan when she was
sick and needed an operation. We also discover the truth about
Sammy's conception. Szymon was a sperm donor and the two did
not conceive him during sexual intercourse. When Andrea hands
him divorce papers, she tells him that she's giving him back
his life and that he should take advantage of it and go after
what he really wants. |

When Andrea comes home from picking Sammy up at school, she finds
the divorce papers on the table in the dining room and is happy
to see that Szymon has signed them.
In this episode, we also learn
that Andrea is a lesbian and has been in a relationship with
Cecilia Nakamura for three years. |

|
It is the night of Jesse's big art show and Andrea shows up with
Szymon and Cecilia Nakamura. When the host of the evening announces
that it is time to reveal Jesse's final painting, things go badly
when Jesse unveils a portrait of Julia that has been vandalized.
Jesse tears out of the show, screaming.
While Szymon and Cecilia try
to figure out what's going on, Andrea approaches Cayden and tells
him that Szymon really wants to be with him and she asks Cayden
to promise her that he'll be patient with Szymon because Szymon
isn't used to being out of the closet. Cayden agrees. |
