1x01: "Except for One Little Problem, Part I" |
|
When Cayden moves into his new apartment, he's happy that he'll
finally be on his own, but his mother tries to convince him that
it's a bad idea. Luckily for him, Cayden's father steps in and
convinces her to let Cayden stay.
When his parents are gone,
Cayden decides to get a little crazy and run around the house
in his underwear, but when he finds Devon James in his apartment,
he is shocked when he pulls him into the hall and locks him out
in just his underwear.
Standing in the hall, Cayden
meets an inebriated Gage Matthews, who offers him some marijuana,
then tells him to go see Kathryn Hayes and ask if he can climb
on her fire escape to get back inside his apartment.
When Cayden meets Kathryn,
he finds that she's a little crazed and talks on and on about
nothing in particular. Making it safely back into his apartment
unscathed, Cayden finds Jesse Martinez there waiting for him.
Jesse tells Cayden that his
ex-girlfriend, Julia Taylor was killed in his apartment, making
Cayden's newfound independence bitter-sweet. Before Jesse leaves,
he tells Cayden that he had a dream about Julia and she told
him that Cayden would help find her killer.
When Cayden's parents return,
they give him a cat because he has rats in his apartment. Cayden
names the cat Mr. Rocky Balboa.
Later that day, Cayden decides
to rearrange furniture and enlists the help of Gage Matthews.
As they are moving a couch, Cayden discovers a loose floorboard
and undearneath finds a diary and a bunch of letters from Julia
Taylor. |

Episode
1x02: "Except for One Little Problem, Part II" |
|
Cayden refuses to give Gage or Kathryn Julia's diary or letters
and instead calls the police and asks them to come pick up the
letters. He runs into Devon at the incinerator chute and she
tells him how Julia died, she was stabbed to death. When he tells
Devon about the letters she requests that he hand them over to
her, but he refuses and she gets angry and leaves.
Heading downstairs to do some
laundry in the mean time, Cayden runs into Jesse, who shows him
how to do laundry. Jesse tells Cayden that he knows that Cayden
is gay, and after initially denying it, Cayden finally admits
that it is true. When Cayden tells Jesse about the letters, Jesse
agrees that the police should have them because he believes that
Julia's killer still lives in the building.
After Jesse leaves, Cayden
is attacked as someone tries to choke him with a rope. Able to
break free, Cayden flees and runs into Szymon Skubisz. Szymon
tries to apprehend the suspect and gets into a scuffle, but the
suspect gets away with Szymon in pursuit. Cayden finds Jesse
in the basement and Jesse tells him that someone hit him on the
head from behind.
When Szymon returns he tells
them that the attacker got away. They go up to Cayden's apartment
where Cayden hands over Julia's letters, but secretly keeps her
diary. |

Episode
1x03: "People Are Strange" |
|
Two weeks after moving into his apartment, Cayden is fed up with
Devon james and her careless disregard for her neighbors. When
he tries to confront her, she gets defensive and Cayden, unable
to find the courage to stand up to her, backs off. Later, Gage
tells Cayden that he needs to put Devon in her place, but when
presented with another opportunity to say something to her, Cayden
shuts down.
At school, Cayden and another
student, Elijah Montessori, are asked to stay after class by
Professor Hirsch. The man tells them that their papers are incredible
and suggests that they are plagiarized, but Cayden and Elijah
both state that they wrote the papers themselves. Afterward,
Cayden meets the president of the Gay Straight Alliance, Dominick
Perrotti, but declines to join the group.
When he returns home, Gage
invites Cayden to a party and while Cayden is getting ready,
he has a talk with Kathryn Hayes as she sits on the fire escape.
The two admit that they're kind of lonely without their family
and Kathryn tells Cayden that he shouldn't keep his window open
or something might try to steal his things.
At the party, Cayden runs into
Dominick and they get drunk together, but when Dominick makes
a move on Cayden, he freezes him out and decides to leave the
party.
When he returns home, Cayden
finds himself on the elevator with Devon James and finally goes
off on her for being such a bitch. But when they get to his apartment,
Cayden realizes that it's been burglarized. When Szymon Skubisz
and his partner Cecilia Nakamura show up and ask Cayden what
the burglar was after, Cayden realizes that he still has Julia
Taylor's diary.
He tells Devon and together
they decide to keep it a secret from the police so that they
can read the diary and try to find Julia's killer themselves. |

1x04: "The Warning" |
|
When Cayden beings to receive ominious phone calls, he thinks
they are a joke at first, but as they continue, he starts to
wonder if maybe one of this neighbors is trying to scare him.
First, there is Devon, then Gage. Each of them seems capable
of making those phone calls.
At school, Cayden runs into
Dominick Perrotti and receives an apology, then Elijah Montessori
asks Cayden if he can spend the night while his roommate entertains
a lady friend. Cayden agrees.
When Cayden returns to his
apartment, he finds an ominous letter and a surprise in the bathroom.
Mr. Rocky Balboa is dead in the bathtub with a kitchen knife
lodged in his side.
After calling Szymon, Cayden
gets an earful from Devon, who tells him to keep the diary a
secret while he freaks out, but he eventually agrees. When Szymon
shows up, he tries to get Cayden to tell him the truth because
he suspects that Cayden is lying about something, but Cayden
doesn't relent.
When Szymon offers to spend
the night and make sure that Cayden is okay, Elijah Montessori
shows up and Cayden tells Szymon that there's no need for him
to stay. Szymon leaves, albeit begrudgingly. |

Episode
1x05: "All This and Nothing" |
|
While doing laundry, Cayden is cornered by Jesse, who asks if
he's found anything else of Julia's. When Cayden tells him that
he hasn't, Jesse gets incresingly more disturbing and offers
to go through Cayden's apartment to look for anything that may
have belonged to Julia. Cayden manages to get away from Jesse,
but not before Jesse apologizes.
Heading up to his apartment,
Cayden runs into Kathryn, who tells him that he needs to change
his style and offers to go shopping with him and Devon. Afterwards,
Cayden is happy to find that his best friend, Mason Weber is
waiting for him, but unfortunately for Cayden, Mason and Gage
have hit it off and are carrying on like old friends.
When he is convinced to go
to a bar, Cayden is at first annoyed, but after running into
Dominick Perrotti, he lightens up. While Cayden goes to the bathroom,
Dominick slips a drug into his drink. In the bathroom, Cayden
runs into Szymon and they have a chat. But when Cayden is attacked
by a drunk, Szymon knocks the guys out. Later, Szymon drinks
from the same drugged bottle that was given to Cayden, but is
successful in getting Cayden away from Dominick.
Taking Cayden back to his apartment,
Szymon agrees to stay the night, but when Cayden wakes up, he
realizes that neither he, nor Szymon are wearing any clothes. |

1x06: "Dark Secret, Part I" |
|
Cayden whines to Devon and Mason about his night with Szymon
Skubisz and the fact that he can't remember losing his virginity.
They tell him that he needs to get over it and move on and then
convince him to go out for Halloween.
After an awkward run-in with
Szymon outside the costume shop, Cayden decides to dress as a
vampire for Halloween but when Devon put her spin on his costume,
he has second thoughts.
When everyone convinces him
that he looks great, he decides to go out and is a hit with the
guys. When he finds himself in a situation with an extremely
attractive man, he's greatful when Mason intervenes, but when
Devon decides that everyone should return to Cayden's apartment,
they are shocked to find out that Devon has planned a seance
and hopes to contact Julia Taylor. |

1x07: "Dark Secret, Part II" |
|
Cayden agrees to go along with Devon's seance after some arguing.
He has a conversation with Jesse in which he learns that Julia
wanted to have many children, and tries to console his friend.
During the seance, Cayden is scared when the ouija board tells
everyone that he has Julia's diary. When the lights go off during
the seance, Cayden agrees to go to the basement with Devon to
turn them back on but is separated from her and runs into Kathryn,
who tells him that Devon is probably the one who killed Julia.
Later, Cayden go back to his
apartment and begins to read Julia's diary, where he discovers
that Julia Taylor was pregnant. |

1x08: "Building a Mystery" |
|
Cayden tells Mason that Jesse scares him sometimes, but when
Mason tells him that Jesse is basically harmless, Cayden tells
him that he's not sure what Jesse is capable of. Later, he runs
into Devon, who wants to read Julia's diary, but he avoids her
and runs into Jesse. The two share an awkward conversation and
then calls Szymon and asks if they can meet.
Szymon discovers that Cayden
is still pursuing information about Julia and warns him to back
off but realizes that Cayden isn't going to listen. He tells
Cayden some very interesting secrets about his neighbors and
when Cayden asks him if he knew of Julia's pregnancy, Szymon
informs him that Julia wasn't pregnant when she died, she had
already aborted the fetus.
Later, Cayden runs into Gage
on the subway and when they head home, Gage tells Cayden that
Devon's recent behavior can only be attributed to Cayden's presence
because when Cayden arrived Devon started to act sneaky, like
she was hiding something and feared that she would be caught.
Their conversation is sidetracked, however, when they see Jesse
being carted from the building by paramedics. Kathryn informs
them that Jesse tried to take his own life so that he could be
with Julia again. |

1x09: "When the Morning Comes" |
|
Cayden and Gage decide to visit Gage in the hospital and one
the way there, run into Szymon. Szymon and Cayden have a brief
conversation before parting ways. When Cayden runs into Kathryn,
he relaizes that she is upset and after some discussion, learns
that she feels guilty for what happened to Jesse. Cayden assures
her that it isn't her fault.
Cayden and Kathryn enter Jesse's
room and find Devon there. Angry at Jesse for what he did, Devons
rips into him and then exits the room, followed by Kathryn. While
alone, Cayden and Jesse have a discussion about what happened
and Cayden manages to convince Jesse that if Julia loved him
as much as he believes she did, that she would want him to live
his life to the fullest.
Later, Szymon enters Jesse's
room and accused him of attempting suicide because he felt guilty
about killing Julia. Cayden rushes to Jesse's defense and tells
Szymon that he is disappointed in him.
Afterwards, Cayden and Devon
head home and run into Mrs. Mulberry, who tells them that they
need to watch out for Kathryn Hayes because she is up to something.
Devon asks Cayden what he is doing for Thanksgiving and the two
decide to host a get together and invite Jesse.
As Cayden heads to his apartment,
he runs into Elijah, who begs him to let him stay the night.
Cayden reluctantly accepts and shares his bed with Elijah. In
the middle of the night, Cayden awakens and realizes that Elijah
is sleeping with his arms around him. Content with being held,
even if just for one night, Cayden goes back to sleep.
When Cayden wakes up, Elijah
is gone. Cayden decides to take a peek at Julia's diary and reads
a passage in which Julia Taylor admits to having an affair and
cheating on Jesse Martinez. |

1x10: "Everybody Makes Mistakes" |
|
On Thanksgiving, everyone has gathered at Cayden's apartment
for dinner. While preparing the food, Devon and Mason tease Cayden
about Elijah sleeping in his bed and Devon suggests that Cayden
take initiative and see if a relationship with Elijah would be
possible. Cayden cuts his finger while slicing carrots and Elijah
tends to the cut. Sexual tension builds and Elijah tells Cayden
that he would like to talk about something, but they are interrupted
by Gage and Elijah decides to hold off on telling Cayden.
Later, Kathryn helps Cayden
prepare dinner. Still thinking about Julia's diary entry in which
she admitted to cheating on Jesse, Cayden asks her about that
relationship and Kathryn confirms that they were very close but
did have an argument a few months before Julia died in which
Jesse accused her of cheating on him after receiving an anonymous
letter.
Mason tells everyone that one
of their neighbors is dead after having committed suicide and
everyone shows concern for how Jesse reacts to this news, but
he assured them that he is fine and that he knows he would have
ended up like their neighbor if he didn't have such great friends.
As they are about to sit down
to dinner, Szymon shows up and asks to speak with Cayden. He
apologizes to Cayden for what happened in the hospital and admits
that he's confused by his feelings for Cayden. When Cayden asks
him why, Szymon kisses him. However, Elijah enters the room and
tells Cayden that he would like to sleep on the right side of
the bed tonight. Szymon gets the wrong impression. Embarrassed,
he excuses himself and leaves the apartment.
When everyone sits down to
dinner, they tell one another what they are most thankful for
and Cayden admits that he is thankful that he has his new friends. |

Episode
1x11: "The Perfect Sky" |
|
It is two weeks after Thanksgiving, and as the day begins everyone
is helping Mason move into his new apartment, the apartment in
which a neighbor of Cayden's committed suicide. When everyone
begins to get tired of cleaning the new apartment, they decide
to take a break. Cayden, Devon, Gage, Jesse, and Kathryn head
to the corner store to pick up some snacks. While they are there,
Szymon enters the store and speaks to Cayden privately, or so
they think
When Szymon tells Cayden that
they are officially labeling Julia's murder as a cold case, Devon
reacts strongly. When everyone finds out what Szymon told Cayden,
Cayden realizes that it would be best for Szymon to leave, and
he does so.
As everyone decides to pay
for their snacks and leave, a man with a gun enters the corner
store and tells the cashier to hand over the money. When the
cashier pulls out a shotgun, things go from bad to worse. The
cashier is shot and killed and another customer who tries to
flee is shot as well.
Outside, Szymon hears the gunshots
and orders the store robber to come out, but the man doesn't
comply. He holds Cayden, Devon, Gage, Jesse and Kathryn hostage,
threatening to kill them.
When Jesse sees an opportunity
to tackle the gunman, he takes it, but is overpowered by the
other man. In the struggle to get free, Gage is shot. When Cayden
sees that, he tries to flee but is held by the gunman. In an
effort to get out of the store, the gunman holds a gun to Cayden's
head and threatens to shoot him. Szymon sees that and loses it.
When Szymon doesn't back off, the gunman shoots Cayden on the
arm.
Huddled together, Cayden and
Gage start to talk and Cayden realizes that Gage is losing consciousness
so he tries to get Gage to talk so that he can stay awake. As
Gage drifts into unconsciousness, he tells Cayden that he had
sex with Julia Taylor.
Cayden is shocked by the revelation,
but quickly realizes that he has to get out of the store before
he is killed. He tries to flee but if caught by the gunman and
is thrown into the center of a standoff with the gunman and the
police. With quick thinking, Cayden is able to briefly incapacitate
the gunman, allowing Szymon a clear shot, which he takes. |

1x12: "Tainted Love" |
|
Before going to school, Cayden sees Jesse and Mason searching
for themselves on Google. Cayden wants to search for Szymon Skubisz
and they tease him about being in love with him. When it seems
as if Mason is more interested in the internet than getting to
work on time, Cayden has to drag him out of the apartment.
At school, Dominick Perrotti
approaches Cayden and asks him out on a date. When Cayden asks
him why, Dominick tells him that he decided that if he didn't
take a chance, he might miss an opportunity for something good.
Cayden refuses when he realizes that he needs to do exactly what
Dominick told him, take a chance at being with Szymon Skubisz.
After searching for Szymon
on Google, Cayden finds his address and shows up at his place
where he meets a beautiful woman and a young boy. Much to his
shock, Cayden discovers that the boy is Szymon's son and the
woman is Szymon's wife. He leaves the apartment quickly.
On the street, Cayden runs
into Szymon and Szymon tries to explain his situation, but Cayden
doesn't want to hear it and leaves. |

1x13: "Kiss Me" |
|
Cayden is depressed over finding out that Szymon is married and
he tries to go to his friends for help. Unfortunately for him,
all of his friends are either hooking up or going on dates and
don't have much time for him. When he sees couple after couple,
Cayden begins to get sad.
Eventually, he runs into Elijah
Montessori in a coffee shop and takes a chance, asking Elijah
on a date. When Elijah declines, Cayden is crushed and later
spies Elijah at the table with a cute blond guy, realizing that
Elijah was on a date as well.
Just when he is about to give
up, Cayden runs into Dominick Perrotti, who says all the right
things and invites Cayden on a date, which Cayden accepts. |

1x14: "When the Madness Stops, Part I" |
|
It's Christmas Eve, and while trying to get ready for a date
with Dominick Perrotti, Devon shows up at Cayden's apartment.
Cayden tries to rush her out but feels sympathetic when she starts
to talk about missing Julia. He tells her that she needs to go
out and have fun, for her and for Julia, and she agrees.
When Gage pops into Cayden's
apartment, he tries to get Cayden to hang out with him for the
night. Cayden declines and says that he has plans and Gage begins
to tease him about being a slut.
Later, Cayden spies Kathryn
and Jesse on the fire escape and is worried because he doesn't
want them there when Dominick shows up. They invite him to go
out with them, but he declines.
When Dominick finally shows
up, he puts the moves on Cayden, but another interruption, this
time from Elijah Montessori, causes them to stop. Elijah reacts
strongly to Dominick's presence and leaves, but not before telling
Cayden to be careful.
Later, Cayden is surprised
when Szymon Skubisz shows up with a bouquet of roses. When Szymon
sees Dominick, he realizes that he's missed his chance with Cayden
and leaves.
As Cayden and Dominick begin
to have sex, Cayden finds that it's not exactly what he imagined
it to be. Dominick is rough and Cayden asks him to stop, but
Dominick continues. Finally, when Dominick begins to reach his
climax, Cayden is relieved, but his relief is short-lived when
his parents surprise him by jumping into his bedroom at the most
inopportune time. |

1x15: "When the Madness Stops, Part II" |
|
After Cayden's parents walk in on his having sex with Dominick
Perrotti, he sits down and has a talk with them. When his father
tells him that he needs to come back home, Cayden refuses, causing
his parents to disown him and leave.
Later, Cayden is feeling sad
and decides to get drunk. Jesse tries to talk to him and convince
him that getting drunk isn't the answer and Cayden argues with
him, ultimately they go to their separate corners.
When Devon catches Jesse kissing
Kathryn, she explodes and everyone gets involved in an argument.
When Gage tells everyone that Julia wouldn't have wanted them
to argue because she was all about forgiveness, Cayden lets it
slip that Gage slept with Julia and Jesse forgave her for that.
A stunned Jesse didn't know
that Gage was the one Julia cheated on his with and tries to
attack him. As they try to figure out how Cayden knew about the
affair, Devon tells them that he has Julia's diary and she demands
that Cayden give it to her because he can't be trusted.
Angry, Cayden turns on Devon
and tells her that she's the one who can't be trusted because
she helped Julia secretly get an abortion when she didn't know
if Gage or Jesse was her baby's father.
This knews causes everyone
to go into shock and leave Cayden's apartment, but not before
Devon punches him on the nose. |

1x16: "Brand New Day" |
|
After learning that Dominick Perrotti only wanted him for sex,
Cayden decides to go out for New Year's Eve. When the power goes
out, leaving him stuck in an elevator with Devon, the two have
it out over what happened on Christmas. Cayden tells her that
he can't be held responsible for ruining Julia's memory because
her memory was a lie that Devon helped protect. After some heated
words, Devon forgives him and tells him that it's not his fault,
he just got caught in the middle of everything. When the power
returns, they decide not to go out and spend the holiday together.
While they are heading up the
stairs, they run into Gage, who tries to avoid them, but Devon
stops him and tells him that they are not mad at him. After some
convincing, Gage agrees to spend New Year's Eve with them.
When Cayden returns to his
apartment with Devon and Gage, he spies Kathryn and Jesse on
the fire escape and opens the window. Jesse tries to ignore him
and go back into Kathryn's apartment, but Cayden stops him and
asks him if knowing who Julia cheated with changes the fact that
he forgave her for doing it. When Jesse realizes that he still
loved Julia even when he didn't know who she cheated on his with,
he realizes that Cayden is right, but he is still angry at Gage.
At Cayden's request, Jesse and Kathryn enter his apartment.
Later, Cayden retreats to his
bedroom to have some alone time, but Devon interrupts him and
talks to him about Julia. She tells him that she feels responsible
for Julia's death because she gave her bad advice. Julia received
a letter around the same time that Jesse received the letter
that clued him into her affair. Julia's letter demanded that
she break up with Jesse and Devon told her to ignore the letter.
As the countdown to midnight
begins, everyone gathers in Cayden's living room. When the clock
strikes twelve, they cheer and Cayden is thankful that he spent
the evening with his friends, but a knock at the door takes him
by surprise, and when he opens it, Szymon Skubisz grabs him and
kisses him in front of everyone. When he pulls away, he tells
Cayden that he didn't want to start the new year without any
regrets. |

1x17: "Tempted" |
|
Cayden and Devon discuss his plans for lunch with Szymon, and
Devon teases him about being a home-wrecker. Cayden confesses
his hesitance to get involved with a married man, but Devon convinces
him to at least meet with Szymon.
At school, Cayden runs into
Elijah and is told that Dominick Perrotti is spreading rumors
about him. Dominick told several people that Cayden was a freak
in bed. Elijah then asks Cayden if he could move in with him.
Elijah confesses that he lives with his brother and shares a
room with his nephews. Cayden realizes that he will need help
to pay the rent since his parents cut him off, so he decides
to take Elijah up on his offer.
When Cayden walks into the
student lounge, he spots Dominick and gets embarrassed, but when
people start laughing about him because of the rumors that Dominick
is spreading, Cayden gets angry. Without saying a word, Cayden
punches Dominick in the face and leaves.
At lunch, Cayden tells Szymon
that Elijah is moving in. Szymon admits that he is jealous of
Elijah and Cayden tells Szymon that he's jealous of Andrea. Szymon
tells Cayden the entire story about how he and Andrea are best
friends and he donated sperm so that she could get preganant.
He tells Cayden that they only got married because Andrea was
sick and needed an operation, but didn't have proper medical
insurance.
When Cayden hears the truth,
he is relieved and Szymon confesses that he would like to kiss
Cayden, but when Cayden moves in for the kiss, Szymon pulls back.
Szymon tells Cayden that he doesn't want to kiss in public because
he isn't out of the closet yet, but he invited Cayden to the
bathroom of the restaurant so that they could make out in private.
Deciding that he would rather
not hide the fact that he is gay, Cayden declines and leaves
the restaurant.
When he gets home, Cayden runs
into Jesse, who admits that he is having a problem with Kathryn.
Jesse feels as if he is being unfaithful to Julia because he
is attracted to Kathryn. Cayden tells him that it's going to
take time and that it's normal for him to feel that way.
Kathryn approaches them and
tells Cayden that Jesse is having his artwork featured at an
art show.
Later, Gage pulls Cayden into
his apartment to confess the fact that he has feelings for Devon.
Cayden laughs and tells him that he either needs to own up to
his feelings and tell Devon, or he can ignore them and hope that
they go away.
Finally able to get back to
his apartment, Cayden walks in on Elijah sleeping on the couch
naked. In the next few awkward moments, Cayden realizes that
his boyfriend won't kiss him in public and his roommate walks
around naked. |

1x18: "Dear Diary" |
|
It is the night of Jesse's big art show and Cayden is disappointed
because he believes that Szymon is not going to show up. Devon
talks to him and tells him that despite the fact that she doesn't
like Szymon, she believes that he is a man of his word and if
he said he'd show up, then he will.
Trying to get his mind off
of Szymon, Cayden gives Gage advice about Devon. He tells him
to talk to her and see where things go. Later, Kathryn approaches
Cayden and he vents about his frustrations with Szymon. She assures
him that everything is going to be fine and if things don't work
out with Szymon, she has a few gay friends that are interested.
When Szymon finally shows up,
Cayden is happy, but when he sees Andrea Darling at Szymon's
side, he gets worried. Cayden realizes that Andrea is there with
Cecilia Nakamura and is relieved. Szymon professes his devotion
to Cayden and tells him that he wants to be with him. Szymon
then kisses Cayden in front of everyone.
When the host of the evening
announces that it is time to reveal Jesse's final painting, things
go badly when Jesse unveils a portrait of Julia that has been
vandalized. Jesse tears out of the show, screaming.
While Szymon and Cecilia try
to figure out what's going on, Andrea approaches Cayden and tells
him that Szymon really wants to be with himand she asks Cayden
to promise her that he'll be patient with Szymon because Szymon
isn't used to being out of the closet. Cayden agrees.
Later, When Szymon admits that
he feel like a failure for being unable to catch Julia's killer,
Cayden admits that he kept Julia's diary. Szymon comes down on
Cayden pretty hard over keeping the diary, but apologizes and
warns Cayden that if people know that he has Julia's diary, his
life could be in danger again. They decide to go to Cayden's
apartment to retrieve the diary.
When they show up, they find
Elijah having sex in Cayden's bed, but even more shocking, Cayden
realizes that the diary is missing and comes to the conclusion
that someone stole Julia Taylor's diary from his apartment. |

1x19: "The Boy Can't Help It" |
|
Cayden and Elijah Montessori discover that they plan on applying
for the same job at a gay maagazine called Inside OUT. Cayden
is at first hesitant, but agrees that they should still both
apply for the job. The two even decide to make a game out of
it, and tease each other about who is going to get the job.
When they arrive at Inside
OUT, Cayden finds himself in awe. As they are filling out applications,
Elijah catches the eye of the human resources guy and sneaks
off into a closet to have sex with him. Left alone, Cayden wanders
around and finds an unhappy woman in the lounge. She unloads
all of her problems on him and he does his best to help her sort
through them. At the end of the conversation, she offers to put
a good word in with human resources for him.
Later, Cayden meets up with
Szymon and Sammy in the park and Szymon tells Cayden that he's
happy that Sammy feels comfortable with him because he usually
has a hard time meeting new people. As the two playfully flirt,
Sammy falls and breaks his arm.
At the hospital, Cayden is
happy to find out that Sammy will be fine. Szymon is equally
relieved and kisses Cayden. When Szymon pulls away, he locks
eyes with a police officer and quickly walks off, leaving Cayden
standing there by himself. |

1x20: "Truly, Madly, Deeply" |
|
It's Valentine's Day and as the day begins, Cayden tries to show
Elijah how to cook, with disastrous results. When Elijah recieves
a call from Insight OUT Magazine, he is excited because they
want to hire him as their movie reviewer.
Devon drops by to vent her
frustrations with Gage. She tells Cayden that she's confused
because she doesn't want to have feelings for Gage, but she does.
Cayden tells her that she needs to do something about it, but
Devon chooses to avoid the situation instead.
Later, Cayden finds Jesse and
Kathryn in the laundry room and asks Jesse if he's okay. Jesse
admits that he realized that Julia is gone for good and he has
to move on. He admits to Cayden that he is going to make love
to Kathryn for the first time. When Sarah Mulberry enters, she
asks everyone what they're doing and seems especially interested
in Jesse.
When Szymon finally shows up,
he tells Cayden that he is completely out of the closet. He tells
Cayden that they can go out and hold hands and kiss one another
in public, but Cayden opts to stay in and the two make love.
Afterwards, Szymon gives Cayden his ring. The ring is too big
for Cayden's finger, but he keeps it anyway. |

1x21: "Goodbye, Part I" |
|
Cayden is frantic when he loses the ring tht Szymon gave him
while throwing out the trash. He begs Devon and Elijah for their
help in searching for it and the three go down to the incinerator
to wade through trash bags. As the search becomes futile, Cayden
discovers a trash bag filled with pictures of Julia Taylor. They
find Julia's diary that was stolen from Cayden's apartment. The
three soon realize that they just dug through the trash of Julia's
killer. They take the trash bag with them as they scurry to leave,
Cayden finds the ring at the last moment.
Back in Cayden's apartment,
he gathers everyone and tells them about the findings. Cayden
calls Szymona d asks him to get there right away. As Jesse steps
forward the grab the bag, Kathryn blocks him and grabs it. Devon
is furious that Kathryn continues to further contaminate the
evidence. Cayden tries to bring everyone back to their senses
and they agree to go through the bad while wearing latex gloves.
While they are searching through
the bag, Cayden gets overwhelmed and steps into his bedroom.
Devon follows him and asks if he is okay. Cayden admits that
he's scared at the fact that there is a killer in the building
who has broken into his apartment on several ocassions. Devon
admits to Cayden that she is scared too. She also admits that
she is pregnant.
As Jesse Martinez searched
through the bag of evidence, he is shocked to find that in every
picture of Julia Taylor, someone cut out her eyes. When Gage
tries to help, Jesse goes off on him, blaming him for preventing
him from spending precious time with Julia before she died. Kathryn
does her best to stop the two men from fighting and Jesse becomes
frustrated that he can't find anything in the bag.
When Cecilia Nakamura and Szymon
Skubisz arrive to pick up the bag of evidence left by Julia's
killer, they are shocked that everyone rifled through the bag.
As Cecilia goes through the evidence, she notes that someone
took photographs of Julia inside of her apartment from the fire
escape. Cecilia finds a picture in the bag that is different
from the rest. Cayden is present in the photograph, which means
that it was taken after Julia died, and furthermore, Jesse Martinez
is cut out of the picture. Cayden admits that he took the picture
at Christmas and made a copy for all of his friends.
During a quiet moment, Cayden
and Elijah both express their fears for what will happen and
Elijah tries his best to reassure his friend that everyone will
work out.
When Mason enters Cayden's
apartment, Sarah follows him. The two of them find out about
the bag in the incinerator and Sarah makes a few catty remarks
that get Devon's blood boiling and Devon attacks her. Their fight
spills out into the corridor, but it is eventually broken up
my the men and Mrs. Mulberry.
Back at the police station,
Cecilia and Szymon pore over the evidence and Szymon has a thought
about one of the pictures. He calls Cayden and tells him to gather
everyone and make them go get their copy of the photograph. Cayden
quickly realizes that whoever doesn't have their copy of the
picture is the killer. |

1x22: "Goodbye, Part II" |
|
With the power out, Cayden finds himself all alone. After asking
Devon to go bring back her picture he waits, but the darkness
soon begins to frighten him and he starts off to search for Devon.
Cayden gets scared when he runs into Mason and asks him what
he's doing. Mason asks if he can borrow Cayden's digital camera
and Cayden agrees if Mason waits for him to get back from turning
to power back on in the basement. Mason agrees and Cayden leaves
the apartment.
In the basement of the apartment
building, Cayden searches for the breaker switch in the darkness.
As he is searching, Devon James appears and Cayden notices that
she is acting a little strange. Devon admits to finding Mason
dead in Cayden's apartment, and Cayden realizes that she is holding
a bloody knife. Cayden begins to fear for his life and realizes
that Devon is the killer, but Szymon Skubisz shows up in time
to protect Cayden. He points his gun at Devon and demands that
she surrender.
When Gage Matthews arrives
in the basement, he is shocked to find Szymon weilding a gun
on Devon as Cayden stands by and watches. Gage shields Devon
from Szymon's gun and the four invidiuals find themselves in
a standoff. Cayden accuses Devon of killing Mason and Gage denies
that she had anything to do with it. Devon continues to try to
get Cayden to listen to her words. Gage is ultimately successful
in retrieving the knife from Devon, but Devon pushes forward
and reaches into her jacket for something.
Szymon is poised to shoot,
but Cayden stops him by telling everyone that Devon is pregnant.
When Devon pulls out a piece of paper and hands it to Cayden,
he is confused at first until he realizes that it is the picture
he gave her. She still had it. Devon collapses to the ground
and everyone realizes that she has been stabbed in the back.
Szymon and Cayden arrive just
in time to watch Cecilia being pushed off of the fire escape.
They share tense words and Kathryn fires her gun on Cayden, causing
him to stumble into the hall. Szymon rushes to his side and Kathryn
slams the door shut.
Szymon kicks the door to Cayden's
apartment down and finds Jesse standing there, holding the gun
to his head. With the help of Cayden, Gage and Devon, Szymon
is successful in getting Jesse to drop the gun. A defeated Jesse
falls to the floor, a sobbing mess.
Szymon tells Cecilia that she
will be alright as she is taken away in an ambulance. He then
discusses Elijah's condition with Cayden. It seems that there
was extensive damage to Elijah's head and they hope that he will
be okay. |
