Glancing around Devons
apartment, Jesse sighed inwardly as he headed for the couch and
sat down. So whats the deal with the new guy?
He inquired.
I dont know,
Devon said as she stepped out of the bedroom, but I cant
stand the idea of him living in Julias apartment.
Its not Julias
apartment anymore, Jesse said softly as he glanced away
and stared at the carpet for a moment.
I know that, Devon
sighed as she crossed over to the kitchen and opened the refrigerator,
but shes only been gone for a month, and the police
still havent found her killer. Its so frustrating,
she said as she returned tot he living room and handed Jesse
a beer.
Accepting the beer, Jesse leaned
back and snapped it open. Dont worry, well
find her killer.
How can you be so sure?
Devon inquired as she sat down beside him and took a sip from
her own can. I mean . . . whoever did it could be a million
miles away by now.
I dont think so,
Jesse admitted, I think whoever did it is still very close
by.
What makes you think
that? Devon questioned as she glanced over at him.
I dont know,
Jesse responded, I just know.
That makes absolutely
no sense, Devon informed him as she leaned back on the
couch.
And yet it does,
Jesse admitted. Im confident that her killer will
be found. Youll see.
How can you be so sure?
Devon asked.
Because it came to me
in a dream, Jesse responded. |
