This scene didn't exactly fit in episode 1x08 or in episode 1x09 but it was important because it set up the fact that Mason was ready to move out of Cayden's apartment and I wanted to include it in the story so that when Mason finally did move out, it didn't come out of nowhere.

 scene one

Cayden stepped out of the bedroom and glanced over at the couch. "Mason?" He questioned when he didn't see his friend. "Are you here?"

"I'm here," Mason said as he stepped out of the kitchen with a bowl of cereal. He walked over to the laptop on the table in front of the couch and sat down.

"Have you been here all morning?" Cayden questioned as he glanced around.

"Yeah, why?" Mason questioned as he glanced at the computer screen.

"Did you see . . ."

"Did I see the mysterious man leaving your bedroom very early in the morning?" Mason questioned as he glanced over at Cayden and winked. "Don't worry, I didn't see anything," he smiled.

"Nothing happened," Cayden responded.

"Sure, is that what they're calling it these days? Nothing?" Mason joked.

"No, I'm serious, nothing happened. We just went to sleep."

"Couldn't get it up?" Mason questioned.

"Mason!" Cayden laughed. "I don't have that problem," he quickly added. "He's just a friend and he needed a place to stay last night," Cayden explained.

"It's cool," Mason nodded. "It's your place."

"What are you looking at?" Cayden questioned.

"Apartment listing," Mason responded.

"You're looking for an apartment?" Cayden questioned.

"It's time," Mason said with a nod. "I'm imposing on you."

"You're not imposing," Cayden admitted.

"I am," Mason said. "You helped me get that job at your school and I'm grateful for that, but I need to find a place of my own," Mason admitted, "because this couch sucks," Mason said with a smile.

"Fine, hate my couch," Cayden said. "I'll miss you."

"I'm not gone yet," Mason said. "Plus, you'll see me all the time. Just because I'm getting a place of my own doesn't mean I won't be over here all the time," Mason said.

"That makes so much sense," Cayden said as he rolled his eyes. "So what's the point?"

"Independence, my friend," Mason said. "Plus, when I meet a hot girl I can take her back to my place instead of always going to hers. Do you know how disorienting it is to wake up in a different place every night?"

"I can imagine," Cayden chuckled as he rolled his eyes.
